Captain Marvel has officially had the biggest ever opening for a Marvel solo movie debut. Starring Brie Larson, Captain Marvel kicked off its opening weekend with £12.75m from 655 cinemas. This has garnered the movie the biggest ever three-day opening for a Marvel standalone film.

As of writing, Captain Marvel has a worldwide total taking of £365.98 million ($479 m).

In North America, the film opened to £116m ($153 m) over its debut weekend.

Captain Marvel is the 21st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
