Leila Djansi is making Ghana proud with her unique film making skills and we are super proud of her–She’s a super woman who needs to be celebrated. We told you guys about her movie ‘Like Cotton Twines‘ that was premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival sometime in June last year right? Well, guess what, since it’s premiere Leila has not stopped in pushing her movie to show at the various film festivals she gets to attend.
The latest Ghbase.com gathers is that, her movie “Like Cotton Twines” has won an award at the Riverbend Film Festival which was held in Goshen, Indiana. The Film festival is a 3 day festival and the date for this year’s edition was April 6th – April 8th, 2017.
Leila Djansi who happens to be one of the guest speakers at the film festival got her movie ‘Like Cotton Twines’ winning in the ‘Best Narrative Feature’ Category and in a post she made on her Instagram account, the film director was in seventh heaven-Ghbase.com observed.

Leila’s film ‘Like Cotton Twines‘ tells the story of Tuigi, a 14-year-old JSS student in a small Ghanaian village who has to become a ‘Trokosi’, a slave to the gods as a punishment to atone for her father’s crime.
